The indicators of the 2026 report illustrate the story of transformation; operational efficiency in energy and water management, and cognitive and social empowerment shaping the human of the future.

The Third Voluntary National Report of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 2026 shows tangible developmental leaps that translate the targets of Saudi Vision 2030 into reality. This structural transformation is measured not only by mere economic growth but also by the efficiency of managing scarce resources and developing human capital in parallel, which is clearly evident in three vital sectors:

1. Energy and Climate Action: Financial and Technological Leadership

The energy sector leads the transition towards sustainability through mega-projects supported by investments exceeding $186 billion under the "Saudi Green Initiative". The Kingdom is steadily progressing towards its ambitious target of raising the share of renewable energy in the electricity mix to 50% by 2030, alongside a target to reduce and eliminate 278 million tons of carbon emissions annually.

2. Water Sustainability: Quality Solutions for a Scarce Equation

The Kingdom has successfully addressed the water security dilemma through two parallel pathways: increasing the production capacity of desalinated water to exceed 16 million cubic meters per day at the lowest operational energy consumption cost in the world, while protecting its non-renewable groundwater assets; where groundwater usage in agriculture has decreased by more than half to reach 9.1 billion cubic meters. This recovery is supported by a leap in recycling efficiency, with the percentage of treated wastewater reuse rising from 17.26% to 31.95%.

3. Education and Social Empowerment: Building the Human of the Future

The efficiency of social investment is reflected in educational and human indicators; the educational system has successfully reduced the percentage of out-of-school children (dropout) in primary education from 3.41% to 0.53%. This cognitive qualification has been accompanied by extensive operational empowerment at the social level, manifested in the rate of women's participation in the workforce reaching 34.2%, surpassing the initial target of the vision.

Summary of the Report:
These indicators reflect a solid practical transformation that reshapes the future; the Kingdom does not merely possess assets but presents a unique global model in efficient resource management and human capital development to ensure continuous sustainability across generations.
